UTStarcom, Brasil Telecom Join Hands for IPTV Service

Chinese provider of IP-based, end-to-end networking solutions and services UTStarcom recently announced its cooperation with Brasil Telecom, a major Brazilian telecommunications operator, to pioneer the IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) service in Brazil, according to the Xinhua News Agency.
UTStarcom's RollingStream solution, launched for commercial use in October 2006, has been deployed by Brasil Telecom as the end-to-end technology platform for its new Videon VOD (Video On Demand) IPTV service in Brazilia. By means of UTStarcom's RollingStream solution, Brasil Telecom plans to extend the Videon service to other cities in southern and midwestern Brazil in the next few months.
